"Rallycross is a unique mixture of circuit racing and off road action rolled into one. Using 'familiar' cars from many different manufacturers competing in a series of 3-4 lap races of approx one mile per lap on complex circuits with mixed surfaces - These cars can be heavily modified utilising the pinnacle of Motorsport technoligies for a number of different regulated classes often reaching power figures of 550BHP (utlising restrictors) in the four wheel drive class or packing a punch of up to 450BHP per tonne in the 2WD categories, They are capable of out-accelerating Formula One cars and often race in grids of ten."
